The year 2017 is seen as a year of footfall revival in Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand. It is noted that right from the first day of their portal opening, all four dhams have been receiving a large number of pilgrims every single day. The Yatra has reached its 13 days, and so far about total 1.80Lac people have already visited the four temples.
In Yamunotri, so far, 50000 devotees have paid homage, with 6458 visits on the 13th day of the Yatra, whereas 6000 pilgrims have been reported to have visited Gangotri. Even, the honorary Supreme Court Chief Justice, Adarsh Goyal and Railway Plan Tribunal President, KK Kanan also visited Gangotri Dham for darshan. Meanwhile, in Badrinath, about 8432 pilgrims and in Kedarnath 7971 devotees were recorded paying homage on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. In only 5 days of opening of its portals, Badrinath has received around 84480 devotees already. Evidently, the Yatra is gradually getting back on track in Uttarakhand, which was largely affected by the devastation of the flash flood of June 2013.
